Services

Spanning a vast territory from Red Lake to Parry Sound, CÉNO provides specialized services destined to support the well-being and success of every student.

Psychology

CÉNO’s psychology services support the overall well-being and academic success of students in French-language schools across Northern Ontario. Delivered by a psychologist, these services include targeted interventions tailored to each student’s needs, in close collaboration with school teams and families. The approach emphasizes prevention, understanding individual needs, and fostering each student’s full potential.

Psychometry

CÉNO’s psychometry services support students’ academic success by offering standardized assessments that help identify cognitive profiles, strengths, and learning needs. The results guide instructional planning and individualized support strategies. The service is delivered by a qualified psychometrist in collaboration with the school team, families, and other professionals as needed.

Behaviour and Wellbeing

CÉNO's behaviour and wellbeing services are offered by a registered psychotherapist and a registered social worker. They support students’ mental health, emotional well-being, and positive behaviours in collaboration with schools and families. These services promote a caring school climate, strengthen socioemotional skills, and help prevent behavioural challenges through proactive, student-centred approaches tailored to individual needs.

Mental Health

CÉNO’s mental health services align with Ontario’s tiered model of school-based mental health services (SMSO). Registered social workers, social work technicians, and psychotherapists support students’ psychological wellbeing. Their interventions range from wellbeing promotion and universal prevention to targeted or intensive supports, depending on each student’s specific needs and in partnership with school and community resources.

Speech-Language Pathology

CÉNO’s speech-language pathology services support the development of students’ communication skills and strengthen the capacity of school staff to intervene effectively. They include training, mentoring, and assessments or interventions tailored to students’ needs. Offered mostly within a Response to Intervention (RTI) framework, these services emphasize prevention, collaboration, and tiered support.

Occupational Therapy

CÉNO’s occupational therapy services are grounded in the Partnering for Change (P4C) model developed by CanChild (McMaster University). Through collaboration, coaching, and real-context interventions, these services help build the capacity of school teams and families to support students’ functional participation in both daily and school activities, while considering their overall environment.
